QRS Biofeedback Trainer

NEW: QRS Biofeedback Trainer

The QRS Biofeedback Trainer is a pelvic floor training device that “scans” bio-actively and records the activities of the pelvic floor muscles through a special sensor* integrated into the seat. Muscle movements are measured by the sensor during training and visualized on a screen.

QRS Biofeedback Trainer Monitoring

The software enables different program modes: free training, two training sessions according to specifications or a “game mode”. The course of the training and the success is evaluated by the software.

The patient can always keep an eye on the screen and the tasks displayed on it during training. For example, the basic training asks the patient to trace a curve through targeted muscular tensing, brief holding, and slow relaxation. The more precisely the patient performs this task, the better. As the training progresses, the conscious muscle tensing gets closer and closer to the target.

The screen shows the basic training mode with 2 curves. As the pelvic floor muscles are tensed, the red line moves upwards. The patient should follow the blue target line as closely as possible when tensing and relaxing.

In “game mode,” the patient controls a paddle to deflect a bouncing ball, similar to early video games. The paddle is moved upwards by contracting the pelvic floor muscles and downwards by relaxing them in order to hit the ball. In this way, the training features a highly interactive prompting mechanism to subconsciously stimulate the pelvic muscles.

A meaningful add-on to QRS magnetic stimulation

The new training device expands QRS magnetic stimulation with the following options:

  • Diagnosis, measurement, and recording of the actual status of muscular strength in the pelvic floor muscles
  • Checking of the neuromuscular function of pelvic floor control
  • Checking and active training of the coordination abilities of the pelvic floor muscles
  • Supportive perception training for improved self-training
  • Improvement of the neuromuscular fine motor skills of the pelvic floor muscles
  • Logging of the progress of the QRS Pelvicenter magnetic stimulation therapy
  • Alternative therapy if there are any contraindications for magnetic stimulation

Resulting in a meaningful therapy symbiosis: the QRS Pelvicenter and the QRS Biofeedback Trainer

Sensor technology enables biofeedback

Biofeedback is a process that makes unconscious, physiological processes within the body perceptible. With the QRS Biofeedback Trainer, this is done using specially designed sensor technology to enable the conscious contractions of the pelvic floor muscles to be observed on a screen in real time. This makes for comprehensive training control, i.e. the patient learns to consciously and specifically tense his or her continence muscles.

Combination therapy QRS magnetic stimulation and biofeedback

For pelvic floor specialists, combination therapy with the two QRS Pelvicenter and QRS Biofeedback Trainer systems represents the most advanced form of pelvic floor therapy.

The biofeedback trainer can be used to objectively record the actual condition of a weak pelvic floor and to visually show the patient the need for pelvic floor training. After all, the first signs of stress urinary incontinence are often not taken seriously, even though the condition of the pelvic floor requires urgent intervention. With the QRS Biofeedback Trainer, the success of magnetic stimulation can now be objectively assessed during every phase of treatment. This is because the progress of success can be continuously recorded and is available as a printable report at any time.

Alternative therapy with the QRS Biofeedback Trainer

If contraindications prevent a patient from being treated with magnetic stimulation on the QRS Pelvicenter, using the QRS Biofeedback Trainer represents a reasonable and workable alternative. It also gives the option of starting pelvic floor training during pregnancy, thereby minimizing the risk of birth-related incontinence.
